==Geography==
Chevy Chase Section Three is located in southern Montgomery County at {{coord|38|58|45|N|77|4|23|W|type:city}} (38.979043, -77.072948).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It is bordered by the town of [[Chevy Chase (town), Maryland|Chevy Chase]] to the west, [[Chevy Chase Section Five, Maryland|Chevy Chase Section Five]] to the north, [[Martin's Additions, Maryland|Martin's Additions]] to the east, and [[Chevy Chase Village, Maryland|Chevy Chase Village]] to the south. It is less than one mile northwest of the border with the [[District of Columbia]] and {{convert|5|mi|0}} northwest of downtown Washington.

According to the [[U.S. Census Bureau]], the village has an area of {{convert|0.12|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, all land.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2022"/> The town is in the watershed of [[Rock Creek (Potomac River tributary)|Rock Creek]]. The [[population density]] was {{convert|6333.3|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 278 housing units at an average density of {{convert|2316.7|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the village was 92.1% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.3% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.1% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 2.6% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.7% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 3.2% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.9% of the population.

There were 271 households, of which 41.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 73.4% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 7.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 1.1% had a male householder with no wife present, and 17.7% were non-families. The average household size was 2.80; but 15.5% consisted of one person, and 9.5% of one person 65 years of age or older.
