[[Georgia State Route 257]] joins SR 126 on Main Street through the center of Chester, but leads northeast {{convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Dexter, Georgia|Dexter]] and southwest {{convert|9|mi|0}} to [[Empire, Georgia|Empire]]. [[Eastman, Georgia|Eastman]], the Dodge County seat, is {{convert|15|mi}} to the south via Chester Highway.
