The Comanche County portion of Chattanooga is included in the Lawton, Oklahoma Metropolitan Statistical Area. ==History== Chattanooga emerged after the opening of the Kiowa-Comanche-Apache Reservation to non-Indian settlement on August 6, 1901. Named by N. C. Sisson after his hometown in Tennessee, the Chattanooga Town Company, comprising Sisson, T. E. Richey, and E. C. Blake, obtained the townsite patent on December 18, 1902. The post office was established in January of the following year. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railway played a pivotal role in Chattanooga's early development, extending a branch line from Lawton in 1903. The railway facilitated access to the Big Pasture, opened for settlement in 1906. The branch line was completed to Grandfield in 1920, and was later abandoned in 1942. Chattanooga, with rail access, quickly became an agricultural center, boasting three cotton gins, a lumberyard, a feed yard, and various small businesses by 1912. In 1930, the town had two gins and two elevators. ==Geography== According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 0.6 square miles (1.5 km<sup>2</sup>), all land. ===Climate=== {{Weather box | width = auto | collapsed = yes | single line = yes | location = Chattanooga, Oklahoma (1981–2010 normals, extremes 1905–2009) | Jan record high F = 90 | Feb record high F = 92 | Mar record high F = 99 | Apr record high F = 103 | May record high F = 111 | Jun record high F = 116 | Jul record high F = 114 | Aug record high F = 115 | Sep record high F = 113 | Oct record high F = 105 | Nov record high F = 88 | Dec record high F = 86 | year record high F = | Jan high F = 51.7 | Feb high F = 56.1 | Mar high F = 64.2 | Apr high F = 74.1 | May high F = 82.6 | Jun high F = 91.6 | Jul high F = 97.0 | Aug high F = 96.7 | Sep high F = 87.9 | Oct high F = 76.5 | Nov high F = 63.4 | Dec high F = 52.0 | year high F = 74.5 | Jan mean F = 38.5 | Feb mean F = 42.5 | Mar mean F = 50.4 | Apr mean F = 59.8 | May mean F = 69.7 | Jun mean F = 78.8 | Jul mean F = 83.4 | Aug mean F = 83.0 | Sep mean F = 74.5 | Oct mean F = 62.7 | Nov mean F = 50.2 | Dec mean F = 39.4 | year mean F = 61.1 | Jan low F = 25.3 | Feb low F = 28.9 | Mar low F = 36.7 | Apr low F = 45.6 | May low F = 56.8 | Jun low F = 66.0 | Jul low F = 69.9 | Aug low F = 69.3 | Sep low F = 61.1 | Oct low F = 49.0 | Nov low F = 36.9 | Dec low F = 26.9 | year low F = 47.7 | Jan record low F = -17 | Feb record low F = -5 | Mar record low F = 4 | Apr record low F = 20 | May record low F = 31 | Jun record low F = 44 | Jul record low F = 50 | Aug record low F = 47 | Sep record low F = 34 | Oct record low F = 16 | Nov record low F = 10 | Dec record low F = -13 | year record low F = | precipitation colour = green | Jan precipitation inch = 1.18 | Feb precipitation inch = 1.59 | Mar precipitation inch = 2.54 | Apr precipitation inch = 2.74 | May precipitation inch = 4.51 | Jun precipitation inch = 4.37 | Jul precipitation inch = 2.07 | Aug precipitation inch = 2.85 | Sep precipitation inch = 2.74 | Oct precipitation inch = 3.26 | Nov precipitation inch = 1.55 | Dec precipitation inch = 1.76 | year precipitation inch = 31.16 | unit precipitation days = 0.01 in | Jan precipitation days = 3.3 | Feb precipitation days = 4.2 | Mar precipitation days = 4.9 | Apr precipitation days = 4.6 | May precipitation days = 6.9 | Jun precipitation days = 6.7 | Jul precipitation days = 4.6 | Aug precipitation days = 4.6 | Sep precipitation days = 4.9 | Oct precipitation days = 5.1 | Nov precipitation days = 3.8 | Dec precipitation days = 3.7 | year precipitation days = 57.3 | source = NOAA }} ==Demographics==    As of the census of 2010, there were 461 people, 179 households, and 128 families residing in the town.
