==Geography==
Chapman is in southwestern Merrick County along [[U.S. Route 30]], which runs along the southeast edge of town. [[Central City, Nebraska|Central City]], the [[county seat]], is {{convert|10|mi|0}} to the northeast, and [[Grand Island, Nebraska|Grand Island]] is {{convert|12|mi}} to the southwest.

According to the [[U.S. Census Bureau]], the village of Chapman has a total area of {{convert|0.45|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, all land.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2023"/> The [[Platte River]] passes {{convert|2|mi|0}} to the southeast of the village.

The racial makeup of the village was 96.9% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.7% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 1.0% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.3% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.0% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.5% of the population.

The racial makeup of the village was 97.65% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 1.17% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.29% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.88% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 2.05% of the population.

There were 131 households, out of which 39.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.5% were non-families. 22.1% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.60 and the average family size was 3.09.

In the village, the population was spread out, with 31.4% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 11.7% who were 65 years of age or older.
