==History==
The founder of the town was Mr. Thomas Graham. Originally named Dodge, the town changed its name in 1887.<ref name="mhs" /> This was an appeal to become the county seat of the newly formed county.

==Geography==
[[Interstate 15 in Montana|Interstate 15]] passes through the community. The town is situated along the [[Missouri River]].

The [[population density]] was {{convert|1292.5|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 328 housing units at an average density of {{convert|618.9|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the town was 94.9% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 2.5% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.7% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 1.9% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 2.5% of the population.

There were 287 households, of which 27.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.3% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, 3.8% had a male householder with no wife present, and 34.5% were non-families. 28.6% of all households were made up of individuals, and 14.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.32 and the average family size was 2.87.

The median age in the town was 47.6 years. 22% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.8% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 18.3% were from 25 to 44; 31.1% were from 45 to 64; and 22.6% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the town was 47.3% male and 52.7% female.

The racial makeup of the town was 97.56% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.37% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 1.22% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 0.85% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.73% of the population.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 30.0% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 24.4% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 17.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.9 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $30,602, and the median income for a family was $34,938. Males had a median income of $30,446 versus $18,542 for females. About 10.0% of families and 12.1% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 16.2% of those under age 18 and 10.7% of those age 65 or over.

Cascade Public Schools educates students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
