The racial makeup was 78.18% (5,918) [[White (U.S. census)|White]], 13.45% (1,018) [[Black (U.S. census)|Black or African American]], 0.46% (35) [[Native American (U.S. census)|Native American]], 1.06% (80) [[Asian (U.S. census)|Asian]], 0.04% (3) [[Pacific Islander (U.S. census)|Pacific Islander]], 4.12% (312) from [[Race and ethnicity in the United States census#Race|other races]], and 2.69% (204) from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. census)|Hispanic or Latino]] of any race were 11.48% (869) of the population.<ref name=Census2010/> Of the 2,786 households, 27.1% had children under the age of 18; 55.6% were married couples living together; 11.7% had a female householder with no husband present and 27.5% were non-families. Of all households, 22.7% were made up of individuals and 11.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
