Brandt sits in the middle east of the county, and is located nine miles from [[Interstate 29 in South Dakota|I-29]], which passes through the eastern side of South Dakota. Brandt is 76 miles north of [[Sioux Falls, South Dakota|Sioux Falls]].

The [[population density]] was {{convert|84.9|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 50 housing units at an average density of {{convert|39.7|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the town was 96.3% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.9% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 2.8% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.7% of the population.

There were 43 households, of which 20.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.8% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 4.7% had a female householder with no husband present, 2.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 44.2% were non-families. 37.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 11.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. There were 51 households, out of which 33.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.1% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 3.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 43.1% were non-families. 39.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 23.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.22 and the average family size was 3.00.

In the town, the population was spread out, with 27.4% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 38.1% from 25 to 44, 13.3% from 45 to 64, and 14.2% who were 65 years of age or older.
