Branch is located in southwestern Franklin County at the junctions of Arkansas Highways [[Arkansas Highway 22|22]] and [[Arkansas Highway 41|41]]. Highway 22 leads east {{convert|5|mi|0}} to [[Caulksville, Arkansas|Caulksville]] and west {{convert|5|mi|0}} to [[Charleston, Arkansas|Charleston]], while Highway 41 leads north {{convert|10|mi}} to [[Cecil, Arkansas|Cecil]] and south {{convert|14|mi}} to [[Booneville, Arkansas|Booneville]]. [[Fort Smith, Arkansas|Fort Smith]] is {{convert|28|mi}} to the west.

The racial makeup of the city was 96.08% [[Race (United States Census)|White]], 1.68% [[Race (United States Census)|Native American]], 0.84% [[Race (United States Census)|Asian]], 0.56% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.84% from two or more races. 0.56% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.
