==History==
Bondurant was founded in 1884. In 1892, the [[Chicago Great Western Railway]] built the Bondurant railway station.<ref>https://archive.org/stream/pioneersofpolkco02andr#page/14/ Pioneers of Polk County IA</ref> Bondurant incorporated as a city on December 23, 1897. The city was named for Alexander C. ===2018 tornado===

The [[population density]] was 841.8 inhabitants per square mile (325.0/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 2,376 housing units at an average density of 271.6 per square mile (104.9/km<sup>2</sup>). The [[Race and ethnicity in the United States census|racial]] makeup of the city was 91.2% [[White Americans|White]], 1.6% [[African Americans|Black or African American]], 0.2% [[Native Americans in the United States|Native American]], 1.4% [[Asian Americans|Asian]], 0.0% [[Pacific Islander Americans|Pacific Islander]], 0.9% from other races and 4.7% from two or more races.
