As of the [[2020 United States census|2020 census]], the city had a population of 2,790. It is part of the [[Savannah, Georgia|Savannah]] [[Savannah metropolitan area|metropolitan statistical area]].

==Geography==
Bloomingdale is located along the northwestern border of Chatham County at {{coord|32|7|27|N|81|18|26|W|type:city}} (32.124122, -81.307211).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|accessdate=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It is bordered to the northeast by [[Port Wentworth, Georgia|Port Wentworth]], to the east by [[Pooler, Georgia|Pooler]], to the south by a western portion of [[Savannah, Georgia|Savannah]], and to the northwest by [[Effingham County, Georgia|Effingham County]]. [[U.S. Route 80]] runs east–west through the center of Bloomingdale, and [[Interstate 16]] runs parallel to it through the southern part of the city, with access from Exit 152. Both highways lead east {{convert|13|mi}} to downtown Savannah.
