==History==
In 1887, the Kansas Midland Railway was built from Wichita to Ellsworth, a distance of 107 miles, and the building of this line bisected Eagle Township and established a depot and town on section 11, Eagle Township. Bentley was laid out in 1888. As of 2000 the median income for a household in the city was $39,375, and the median income for a family was $46,250. Males had a median income of $32,083 versus $25,694 for females.
