==Geography==
Belvedere is located in western Aiken County at {{coord|33|31|55|N|81|56|36|W|type:city}} (33.531985, -81.943338).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It is surrounded by the city of North Augusta, though Belvedere lies to the northeast of the original city center. [[U.S. Route 25 in South Carolina|U.S. Route 25]] (Edgefield Road) is the main road through the community, leading north to [[Interstate 20 (South Carolina)|Interstate 20]] just outside the CDP. [[Interstate 520]] passes just to the east of the CDP.

===2000 Census===
As of the [[census]]<ref name="GR2" /> of 2000, there were 5,631 people, 2,245 households, and 1,567 families residing in the CDP. The population density was {{convert|1,436.5|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 2,430 housing units at an average density of {{convert|619.9|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the CDP was 74.39% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 23.64% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.09% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.39% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.04% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.52% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.94% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 1.81% of the population.

There were 2,245 households, out of which 32.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 13.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.2% were non-families. 26.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 10.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The median income for a household in the CDP was $36,045, and the median income for a family was $40,264. Males had a median income of $31,768 versus $21,374 for females. People of Hispanic or Latino origin of any race made up 5.96% of the population. Males comprised 48.46%, and females 51.54% of the population.
