In 1887, [[Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway]] built a branch line from [[Neva, Kansas|Neva]] (three miles west of [[Strong City, Kansas|Strong City]]) through Aurora to [[Superior, Nebraska]].  In 1996, the [[Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway]] merged with [[Burlington Northern Railroad]] and renamed to the current [[BNSF Railway]].  Most locals still refer to this railroad as the "Santa Fe".

The racial makeup of the city was 96.7% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]] and 3.3% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]].

There were 24 households, of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.2% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, 8.3% had a male householder with no wife present, and 29.2% were non-families. 29.2% of all households were made up of individuals, and 12.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.50 and the average family size was 2.82.

The median age in the city was 38 years. 33.3% of residents were under the age of 18; 3.5% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 25% were from 25 to 44; 26.7% were from 45 to 64; and 11.7% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the city was 53.3% male and 46.7% female.

The racial makeup of the city was 98.73% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]] and 1.27% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]].

There were 33 households, out of which 30.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.6% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 3.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 27.3% were non-families. 27.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and 3.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.39 and the average family size was 2.79.

In the city, the population was spread out, with 27.8% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 29.1% from 25 to 44, 15.2% from 45 to 64, and 19.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median income for a household in the city was $29,583, and the median income for a family was $51,667. Males had a median income of $28,125 versus $16,250 for females.
