The population density was {{convert|69.7|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of Auberry was 76.1% [[White Americans|White]], 0.5% [[African Americans|African American]], 8.4% [[Native Americans in the United States|Native American]], 1.1% [[Asian Americans|Asian]], 0.2% [[Pacific Islander Americans|Pacific Islander]], 2.6% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 11.1% from two or more races. [[Hispanic and Latino Americans|Hispanic or Latino]] of any race were 11.1% of the population. The census reported that 99.8% of the population lived in households, 0.2% lived in non-institutionalized group quarters, and no one was institutionalized. There were 1,267 households, out of which 24.0% included children under the age of 18, 55.3% were married-couple households, 6.2% were [[cohabitation|cohabiting]] couple households, 19.6% had a female householder with no partner present, and 18.9% had a male householder with no partner present. 23.8% of households were one person, and 13.7% were one person aged 65 or older. The age distribution was 22.1% under the age of 18, 5.8% aged 18 to 24, 21.5% aged 25 to 44, 27.0% aged 45 to 64, and 23.7% who were 65{{nbsp}}years of age or older. The median age was 45.8{{nbsp}}years. For every 100 females, there were 97.1 males.
