==Geography==
Atwood is located in southwestern Logan County. [[U.S. Route 6]] passes through the community, leading northeast {{convert|7|mi|0}} to [[Sterling, Colorado|Sterling]], the [[county seat]], and southwest {{convert|6|mi|0}} to [[Merino, Colorado|Merino]]. [[Colorado State Highway 63]] leads south from Atwood {{convert|3|mi|0}} to Exit 115 on [[Interstate 76 (Colorado–Nebraska)|Interstate 76]] and {{convert|27|mi}} to [[Akron, Colorado|Akron]].

==Demographics==

The population density was {{convert|55.0|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  There were 81 housing units at an average density of {{convert|22.9|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}.  The racial makeup of the CDP was 96.41% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.51% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.51% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], and 2.56% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 9.23% of the population.

There were 72 households, out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.9% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 9.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 19.4% were non-families. 19.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 9.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size was 3.03.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 30.3% under the age of 18, 3.6% from 18 to 24, 23.6% from 25 to 44, 31.3% from 45 to 64, and 11.3% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 42 years. For every 100 females, there were 95.0 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.0 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $44,091, and the median income for a family was $44,205. Males had a median income of $36,375 versus $29,250 for females.
