[[Illinois Route 116]] leads west from Ashkum {{convert|37|mi}} to [[Pontiac, Illinois|Pontiac]]. [[Interstate 57]] crosses IL-116 at Exit 293 just west of Ashkum; it leads north {{convert|18|mi}} to Kankakee and {{convert|78|mi}} to [[Chicago]], while to the south it leads {{convert|57|mi}} to [[Champaign, Illinois|Champaign]].
