==Geography==
Amboy is located in southeastern Miami County. [[Indiana State Road 19]] passes through the town as its Main Street, leading northwest {{convert|14|mi}} to [[Peru, Indiana|Peru]], the [[county seat]], and southeast {{convert|4|mi|0}} to [[Converse, Indiana|Converse]].

According to the [[U.S. Census Bureau]], Amboy has a total area of {{convert|0.34|sqmi|sqkm|2}}, all of it recorded as land.<ref name="CenPopGazetteer2022"/> Honey Creek passes through the northwest side of the town, flowing north to [[Pipe Creek (Wabash River tributary)|Pipe Creek]], which runs northwest to the [[Wabash River]] at [[Lewisburg, Indiana|Lewisburg]].

The racial makeup of the town was 96.6% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.5% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 1.0% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 1.0% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 0.8% from two or more races.
