==History==

The population density was {{convert|606.6|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. There were 198 housing units at an average density of {{convert|190.9|/sqmi|/km2|sp=us|adj=off}}. The racial makeup of the town was 83.94% [[Race (United States Census)|White]], 0.32% [[Race (United States Census)|Black]] or [[Race (United States Census)|African American]], 0.48% [[Race (United States Census)|Native American]], 12.08% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 3.18% from two or more races. 43.40% of the population were [[Race (United States Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Race (United States Census)|Latino]] of any race.

There were 189 households, out of which 40.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.4% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 8.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.9% were non-families. 18.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.33 and the average family size was 3.80.

The precinct containing Allgood first appeared on the 1890 U.S. Census under its earlier name of Chepultepec, as the 11th precinct of Blount County. The town received international press coverage when it posted a notice that residents who failed to "HAVE AN ALABAMA DRIVER'S LICENSE OR ALABAMA PICTURE ID CARD ON FILE AT THIS OFFICE" may lose water service.
