==History==

The [[population density]] was {{convert|1018.9|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 176 housing units at an average density of {{convert|475.7|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the village was 98.1% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.3% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.3% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], and 1.3% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]]. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 3.4% of the population.

There were 159 households, of which 32.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.3% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 13.2% had a female householder with no husband present, 5.0% had a male householder with no wife present, and 36.5% were non-families. 34.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.37 and the average family size was 2.96.

The median age in the village was 39.8 years. 28.9% of residents were under the age of 18; 5.3% were between the ages of 18 and 24; 23.4% were from 25 to 44; 23.6% were from 45 to 64; and 18.8% were 65 years of age or older. The gender makeup of the village was 47.2% male and 52.8% female.

The racial makeup of the village was 99.03% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.49% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 0.49% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 0.97% of the population.

There were 166 households, out of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.4% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 6.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 33.1% were non-families. 26.5% of all households were made up of individuals, and 18.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.48 and the average family size was 3.05.

In the village, the population was spread out, with 27.5% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 23.4% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females, there were 91.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.6 males.

As of 2000 the median income for a household in the village was $34,000, and the median income for a family was $40,521. Males had a median income of $30,341 versus $15,769 for females.
