The village is located on the boundary between [[Akron Township, Michigan|Akron Township]] on the north and [[Fairgrove Township, Michigan|Fairgrove Township]] on the south, with the village area approximately evenly split between the two. The [[population density]] was {{convert|427.7|PD/sqmi|PD/km2|1}}. There were 182 housing units at an average density of {{convert|193.6|/sqmi|/km2|1}}. The racial makeup of the village was 96.3% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.2% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.5% from [[Race (U.S. Census)|other races]], and 3.0% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 6.2% of the population.

The racial makeup of the village was 97.61% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.22% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.43% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 1.74% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 6.07% of the population.

In the village, the population was spread out, with 29.7% under the age of 18, 6.9% from 18 to 24, 30.6% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 years of age or older.  The median age was 35 years. For every 100 females, there were 85.1 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 82.0 males.

The median income for a household in the village was $35,208, and the median income for a family was $35,313. Males had a median income of $31,806 versus $23,295 for females. About 12.2% of families and 17.1% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 26.2% of those under age 18 and none of those age 65 or over.
