The CDP includes the developed portion of the [[United States Air Force Academy]], including the cadet housing facilities. The CDP is a part of the [[Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area]]. The Air Force Academy [[post office]] ([[ZIP Code]]s 80840 and 80841 [for [[Post Office box|post office boxes]]]) serves the area.<ref name=ZIPcode/> At the [[United States Census 2020]], the population of the Air Force Academy CDP was 6,680.<ref name=CO_CDP_2020 />

The racial makeup of the CDP was 83.6% [[White (people)|White]], 5.8% [[African American]], 0.8% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 2.8% [[Asian American|Asian]], 0.3% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 3.1% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 3.8% from two or more races.  [[Race and ethnicity in the United States Census|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 8.7% of the population.

There were 1,128 households, out of which 82.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 90.2% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 5.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 1.4% were non-families. 1.3% of all households were made up of individuals, and none had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.  The average household size was 3.60 and the average family size was 3.62.

In the CDP, the population was spread out, with 24.2% under the age of 18, 49.2% from 18 to 24, 24.4% from 25 to 44, 2.0% from 45 to 64, and 0.1% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 21 years. For every 100 females, there were 191.6 males.  For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 235.8 males. All these statistics are typical for United States military bases.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $43,417, and the median income for a family was $43,264. Males had a median income of $7,307 versus $15,464 for females.
