Adeline was laid out in 1845. The village's name honors the wife of [[Thomas J. The racial makeup of the village was 97.12% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.72% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 2.16% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]]. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 2.88% of the population.

There were 50 households, out of which 40.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.0% were [[Marriage|married couples]] living together, 12.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 22.0% were non-families. 16.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 4.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.78 and the average family size was 3.18.

In the village, the population was spread out, with 28.1% under the age of 18, 5.8% from 18 to 24, 30.2% from 25 to 44, 28.1% from 45 to 64, and 7.9% who were 65 years of age or older.
