Setting out from [[Constantinople]], the imperial army follows the [[Thrace|Thracian]] coast into [[Macedonia (region)|Macedonia]], and then south into [[Thessaly]], [[Central Greece (geographic region)|Central Greece]] and the [[Peloponnese]].
