==Geography==
{{okina}}Ele{{okina}}ele is located on the south side of the island of [[Kauai]] at {{coord|21|54|38|N|159|35|4|W|type:city}} (21.910489, -159.584330).<ref name="GR1">{{cite web|url=https://www.census.gov/geographies/reference-files/time-series/geo/gazetteer-files.html|publisher=[[United States Census Bureau]]|access-date=2011-04-23|date=2011-02-12|title=US Gazetteer files: 2010, 2000, and 1990}}</ref> It is bordered to the west by [[Hanapepe, Hawaii|Hanapepe]], with the [[Hanapēpē River]] forming the boundary between the two communities. [[Hawaii Route 50]] passes through Eleele, leading east {{convert|4|mi|0}} to [[Kalaheo, Hawaii|Kalaheo]] and west {{convert|2|mi|0}} to [[Kaumakani, Hawaii|Kaumakani]]. [[Lihue, Hawaii|Lihue]] is {{convert|17|mi}} to the east via Route 50.

The [[population density]] was {{convert|2,463.5|/mi2|/km2|disp=preunit|people&nbsp;|people}}. There were 652 housing units at an average density of {{convert|787.4|/mi2|/km2}}. The racial makeup of the CDP was 9.5% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 0.3% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.1% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 61.8% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 5.3% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.7% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 22.5% from two or more races. [[Hispanic (U.S. Census)|Hispanic]] or [[Latino (U.S. Census)|Latino]] of any race were 8.2% of the population.

In the CDP the population was spread out, with 30.0% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 27.4% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 36 years. For every 100 females, there were 95.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.4 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $46,705, and the median income for a family was $53,047. Males had a median income of $35,500 versus $25,667 for females. About 9.2% of families and 13.2% of the population were below the [[poverty line]], including 15.9% of those under age 18 and 10.6% of those age 65 or over.

==Climate==
