Several transit systems serve Union City, including [[AC Transit]], the [[Dumbarton Express]], [[Bay Area Rapid Transit]] (BART), and [[Union City Transit]]. BART came to Union City when the system opened in 1972. Union City is served by a network of high-capacity streets, with four exits on [[Interstate 880 (California)|Interstate 880]] (Nimitz Freeway). [[California State Route 238|Highway 238]] also serves the city ([[Mission Boulevard (East Bay, California)|Mission Boulevard]]). Quarry Lakes Parkway, formerly known as the East–West Connector, is a {{convert|3|mi|km|adj=on}} roadway project that connects Mission Boulevard and Paseo Padre Parkway.
