Prior to 2000, Titus County was mostly dominated by the Democratic Party at the presidential level, only voting for Republican candidates before then in the midst of 49-state landslides in 1972 and 1984. From 2000 on, it has become solidly Republican at the presidential level along with the rest of [[East Texas]].
