Seagal has been a [[Sheriffs in the United States|Reserve Deputy Chief]] in the [[Jefferson Parish, Louisiana]], Sheriff's Office. In the late 1980s, after teaching the deputies martial arts, unarmed combat, and [[marksman]]ship, then-sheriff [[Harry Lee (sheriff)|Harry Lee]] (1932–2007) asked Seagal to join the force. On April 14, 2010, the series was suspended by Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand due to a sexual trafficking lawsuit filed against Seagal.
