The 968 was Porsche's last front-engine vehicle of any type to enter production before the introduction of the [[Porsche Cayenne]] in 2003. Its discontinuation in 1995 due to poor sales coincided with that of the [[Porsche 928|928]], Porsche's only other front-engine car at the time.
