==Healthcare== Located in Pell City is the Colonel Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home, a nursing home and long-term care facility serving the entire county. The veterans home is a 280-bed facility built in a neighborhood-style of several small cottage clusters, instead of one large institution.<ref name="weld">{{cite web |last1=Gordon |first1=Tom |title=State veterans get a new home |url=http://weldbham.com/blog/2012/10/03/state-veterans-get-a-new-home/ |website=weldbham.com |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20191005132904/https://weldbham.com/blog/2012/10/03/state-veterans-get-a-new-home/ |archive-date=October 5, 2019 |date=October 3, 2012 |url-status=dead}}</ref> The veterans home is named for [[Alabama]] native and [[Medal of Honor]] recipient Colonel [[Robert L.
