====2015: return to the playoffs==== [[File:Alvin Gentry in 2015.jpg|thumb|right|upright|[[Alvin Gentry]] coached the team from 2015 to 2020]] During the [[2014β15 NBA season|2014β15]], for the first time under the name Pelicans, the team qualified for the [[2015 NBA playoffs|NBA playoffs]] with a 45β37 record as the eighth seed in the Western Conference. They owned the tie-breaker over the [[2014β15 Oklahoma City Thunder season|Oklahoma City Thunder]] by winning the regular season head-to-head series, 3β1, and they faced the [[2014β15 Golden State Warriors season|Golden State Warriors]] in the first round; the Warriors swept the Pelicans in four games.
