In June 2018, Carrey was cast as [[Doctor Eggman|Dr. Ivo Robotnik]], the main [[antagonist]] of the ''[[Sonic the Hedgehog]]'' video game series, in a [[Sonic the Hedgehog (film)|film adaptation]] of the franchise.
