Jeff Davis County predominantly experiences a [[semi-arid climate|semiarid steppe climate]] with 83.0% of the county classified as cold semiarid ([[Köppen climate classification|Köppen]] ''BSk'') and 0.4% classified as hot semiarid (Köppen ''BSh'').
