====Annexed communities====
Fayetteville has annexed six [[unincorporated area|unincorporated communities]] within its current corporate limits. Four of them are still listed as "populated places" by the [[USGS]] [[United States Board on Geographic Names|Board on Geographic Names]]. The other two are listed as "historical populated places." Fayetteville's most recent annexation occurred in 1982 when [[White Rock, Washington County, Arkansas|White Rock]] was added to the city limits.
