The "[[Torlonia Museum|Torlonia]] Euthydemus" or "[[Villa Albani|Albani]] Euthydemus" bust, now in the [[Torlonia Collection]] in [[Rome]] but formerly belonging to the [[Villa Albani]] collection, has often been suggested as a possible statue of the Bactrian ruler Euthydemus, based on resemblance with his effigy on coinage.<ref name="OB27"/>{{sfn|Lerner|1999|p=53}} This is now rejected, as the statue in question is now considered as a 1st century portrait of a [[Roman Republic|Republican]] commander or a client ruler.{{sfn|Lerner|1999|p=53}}<ref>{{cite web |last1=Bivar |first1=A.D.H. |title=EUTHYDEMUS in the Encyclopaedia Iranica |url=https://iranicaonline.org/articles/euthydemus |website=iranicaonline.org}}</ref> The style of the statue itself is consistent with the style of the Republican period, rather than the [[Hellenistic period]].<ref name="OB27">{{cite journal |last1=Bopearachchi |first1=Osmund |title=A Faience Head of a Graeco-Bactrian King from Ai Khanum |journal=Bulletin of the Asia Institute |date=1998 |volume=12 |page=27 |jstor=24049090 |url=https://www.jstor.org/stable/24049090 |issn=0890-4464}}</ref> The style of the broad-brimmed hat on the statue is also very different from the Hellenistic ''[[kausia]]''.<ref name="OB27"/>
