There are a large number of community groups in Emsworth and the immediate surrounding area such as cadets, scout and guide groups.

In 2014 retired [[Royal Navy Captain]] Clifford "John" Caughey drove his car into the clubhouse of Emsworth Sailing Club, causing an explosion and requiring thirty firefighters to put out the fire.<ref name=DT_Arson_Emsworth_SC>{{cite news
