Drogheda has a hinterland of 70,000+ within a {{cvt|15|km|mi}} radius. According to the [[2022 census of Ireland|2022 census]], there were 44,135 people living in Drogheda town at that time.<ref name="tableF1015census2022"/>

As of the [[2011 census of Ireland|2011 census]], non-Irish nationals accounted for 16.1% of the population, compared with a national average of 12%.
