===Upcoming tenth studio album=== According to updates on the band members' Instagram accounts in September 2020, the band is in the process of writing and pre-production for their tenth studio album. Silenoz originally claimed the new album wouldn't take as long to release.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://blabbermouth.herokuapp.com/news/dimmu-borgir-guitarist-hopefully-it-wont-take-as-long-to-release-a-new-album-this-time/|title= DIMMU BORGIR Guitarist: 'Hopefully It Won't Take As Long To Release A New Album This Time'|website=Blabbermouth.net|date=27 January 2020|access-date=10 September 2020}}</ref><ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.extrememetalfestivalnews.co.uk/dimmu-borgir---silenoz.php|title=Dimmu Borgir - Silenoz|website=Extreme Metal Festival News|access-date=10 September 2020}}</ref> However, he later took back this statement in December 2023, where he said the band was not prepared to rush the album, and said it will be finished when it is finished, and referred to the 8 years it took ''Eonian'' to be released as the longest time it could take for the next album. A cover album was released on December 8, 2023, titled ''Inspiratio Profanus''. It contains all the covers the band has recorded up to ''Abrahadabra''. On March 30, 2024, during a show in Norway, the band reunited with former members Tjodalv, ICS Vortex and Mustis for a live performance. On August 18, 2024, Galder announced via his Instagram account that he had left Dimmu Borgir, playing his last show the day before at Dynamo Metal Fest.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://blabbermouth.net/news/longtime-dimmu-borgir-guitarist-galder-announces-his-departure-from-the-band|title=Longtime DIMMU BORGIR Guitarist GALDER Announces His Departure From The Band|publisher=[[Blabbermouth.net]]|access-date=August 19, 2024|date=August 19, 2024}}</ref> In December 2024 it was revealed on the bandβs official Instagram that they had entered the studio to record their tenth studio album, indicating a possibility it will be released later in 2025, although an official statement regarding its release is yet to be announced.
