The syndicate has delegated its powers to a Press & Assessment Board; and to an Academic Publishing Committee and an English Language Teaching & Education Publishing Committee.<ref name=":0">{{cite web |title=The Press Syndicate |url=http://www.cambridge.org/about-us/who-we-are/press-syndicate/ |work=Cambridge University Press}}</ref> The Press & Assessment Board was responsible for setting overarching strategic direction.<ref name=":0" /> The Publishing Committees provide quality assurance and formal approval of the publishing strategy.<ref name=":0" /> The operational responsibility of the press was delegated by the Syndics to the secretary of the syndicate and chief executive. In 2020 the university announced its decision to merge Cambridge University Press with [[Cambridge Assessment]].<ref name=":4" />
