On the weekend of August 13, 2016, the 10th annual Bullhead City River Regatta, with a ''Pirates of the Colorado'' theme, attracted 30,158 registered participants. The local economic impact of the event was estimated at $20 million in 2015, although the city made just $208,000.<ref>{{cite news|last1=McDonald|first1=D.K.|title=City, volunteers remove trash left by regatta's 30,158 participants|url=http://www.mohavedailynews.com/news/city-volunteers-remove-trash-left-by-regatta-s-participants/article_92d96e18-62bd-11e6-a14c-436b33a3b23d.html|access-date=August 19, 2016|work=Mohave Daily News|date=August 15, 2016|location=Bullhead City, AZ}}</ref><ref>{{cite news|last1=Brown|first1=Kailyn|title=Heaps of trash in wake of regatta have Bullhead City rethinking river event|url=https://lasvegassun.com/news/2016/aug/16/heaps-trash-regatta-bullhead-city-rethink-river/|access-date=August 19, 2016|work=Las Vegas Sun|date=August 16, 2016}}</ref> Other events take advantage of Bullhead City's climate in the fall and winter months, in particular sports tournaments. Every February, A.Y.S.O. Region 397 hosts the annual Colorado River Invitational Tournament at Rotary Park. The annual youth soccer tournament draws thousands of young soccer players and their supporters. Bullhead City also sponsors two senior softball tournaments every year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Participants come from as far away as Canada. Just a few miles south of the city limits, in Fort Mohave, is the Mojave Crossing Event Center, an arena with a [[seating capacity]] of 5,000. As the largest stadium/arena in Mohave County,<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.mojavecrossing.com/ |title=Mojave Crossing Event Center |publisher=Mojavecrossing.com |access-date=January 5, 2012}}</ref> it is frequently used for large events such as graduation ceremonies, circuses, indoor extreme motocross, monster truck rallies, and concerts.
