He was the last person to see Jones alive. In August 2009, [[Sussex Police]] decided to conduct a case review of Jones's death for the first time since 1969 after new evidence was handed to them by Scott Jones, an [[investigative journalism|investigative journalist]], who had traced many of the people who were at Brian Jones's house the night he died. The journalist had also uncovered unseen police files held at the [[The National Archives (United Kingdom)|National Archives]]. In 2010, following the review, Sussex Police stated it would not be reopening the case.
