Prior to 2007, the town celebrated a festival called Captain Brady Day each summer.  It was first held in 1972 as a way to bring all residents around the lake, both in the village and in Franklin Township, together.<ref>{{cite news |first= Deb|last= Guziak|title= Capt. It was held annually in the summer at the baseball fields by Brady Lake Road.
