Boba Fett appeared in the animated segment of the non-canon 1978 Holiday Special, set after the events of ''A New Hope''. This marks his first appearance in the franchise. He is first seen when he rescues Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, and R2-D2 from a Panna dragon. Fett presents himself as an ally to the heroes but it is later revealed that he was working for Darth Vader the whole time - to reveal the location of the Rebels to the Empire.
