==== Acquisition of Bombardier Transportation ==== In mid-February 2020, Alstom announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Agreement to buy [[Bombardier Transportation]], the multinational train maker headquartered in [[Berlin]], Germany for between €5.8 billion and €6.2 billion. The deal required the approval by Alstom shareholders at a meeting to be held in October 2020 and approval by European regulators.
