====Allegorical accounts====
[[Diodorus Siculus]] reports an allegorical interpretation of the myth of the dismemberment of Dionysus as representing the production of wine. According to Diodorus, Dionysus' dismemberment by the Titans represented the harvesting of the grapes, and the subsequent "boiling" of his dismembered parts "has been worked into a myth by reason of the fact that most men boil the wine and then mix it, thereby improving its natural aroma and quality."
