==Entertainment== ===Pregame ceremonies=== The pregame show, narrated by [[actor]] and [[comedian]] [[Phil Hartman]] (who was murdered four months later), celebrated the music and history of California. It featured performances by [[The 5th Dimension]], [[Lee Greenwood]], and [[The Beach Boys]]. Singer [[Jewel (singer)|Jewel]] later sang the [[The Star-Spangled Banner|U.S. national anthem]]. To honor the 10th anniversary of the [[1987 Washington Redskins season|Washington Redskins]]' win in [[Super Bowl XXII]], the only other previous Super Bowl played in San Diego, the game's MVP, [[Doug Williams (quarterback)|Doug Williams]], and former head coach [[Joe Gibbs]], participated during the [[coin flipping|coin toss]] ceremony.
