==Personal life==
Sonia is the widow of [[Rajiv Gandhi]], elder son of [[Indira Gandhi]]. She has two children, [[Rahul Gandhi]] and [[Priyanka Gandhi]], who both serve as [[Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha|Members of Parliament]] in the Lok Sabha.

According to an [[affidavit]] filed during the [[2014 Indian general election]], Gandhi had declared assets worth {{INRConvert|9.28|c|year=2014|mode=historical}}, with {{INRConvert|2.81|c|year=2014|mode=historical|round=-3}} in movable and {{INRConvert|6.47|c|year=2014|mode=historical}} in immovable properties.
