In September 2011, President [[Sharif Sheikh Ahmed]] laid the foundation for a new military camp in the Jazeera District of Mogadishu. There is a hospital that used to belong to the military, but it needs funding to operate."

In May 2015, President [[Hassan Sheikh Mohamud]] officially opened a new training camp in Mogadishu. Construction began in 2014 in conjunction with the government of the [[United Arab Emirates]].
