Rio Grande is situated at the junction of [[U.S. Route 9 in New Jersey|U.S. Route 9]] and [[New Jersey Route 47|Route 47]]. U.S. Route 9 runs south to [[Cape May, New Jersey|Cape May]] and north toward the [[Atlantic City, New Jersey|Atlantic City]] area while Route 47 runs southeast to [[Wildwood, New Jersey|Wildwood]] and north to [[Millville, New Jersey|Millville]] and the [[Camden, New Jersey|Camden]] area.
