A major employer is Redmond Air Center, at the [[Roberts Field|Redmond Airport]]. This is a [[United States Forest Service|Forest Service]] [[smokejumper|smoke-jumping]], [[wildfire|firefighting]] and training installation.

''[[The Redmond Spokesman]]'' newspaper is the city's oldest continuously operating business, printing its first issue July 14, 1910. The [[Eagle Crest Resort]], {{convert|6|mi|km|0}} west of Redmond, is one of eight destination resorts as defined by Oregon's [[Oregon Department of Land Conservation and Development|Department of Land Conservation and Development]].
