As of the census of 2020, there were 9,663 people living in the city, for a population density of 5,306.43 people per square mile (2,049.35/km<sup>2</sup>). There were 4,247 housing units. The racial makeup of the city was 76.20% [[White (U.S. Census)|White]], 21.69% [[African American (U.S. Census)|African American]], 0.23% [[Native American (U.S. Census)|Native American]], 0.26% [[Asian (U.S. Census)|Asian]], 0.01% [[Pacific Islander (U.S. Census)|Pacific Islander]], 0.47% from [[Race (United States Census)|other races]], and 1.15% from two or more races.
